This is not a 'just put a smile on ya face' kind of article, this is a practical chat about how you make lasting changes to your mindset and experience greater enjoyment everyday.
What if it was easy to choose happy thoughts?
Let’s just sit and think about this for a minute - what if we could actually flick a switch and think happy thoughts - how would you feel?
What sort of things would you be thinking?
What would you be doing differently right now if you flicked the HAPPY THOUGHTS switch?
How would you interact with other people? How do you think they would respond?
Feels pretty good so far right?
But there’s no such thing as HAPPY THOUGHTS switch is there? Or is there?
Ok, there isn’t a literal switch inside your brain that you can switch, but there is a metaphoric one that can be flicked IF YOU CHOOSE to!
Uh huh. Yup. Thats right.
You have the choice to think positively, to manage the negative thoughts, to training your brain to see and feel the best. To free yourself from the toxic and destructive mindset and unlock a full and enjoyable life.
It’s your choice to be happy, and at first it may not be easy, but there you practice flicking the HAPPY THOUGHTS switch, the easier it gets.
So how can we flick the switch?
🙋 Choose to think positively.
Make the conscious choice to look for the best in people, to see the goodness around, to find the joy in the moment.
🙋 Live in gratitude.
Openly express your gratitude about the good stuff, and the good people every day.
🙋 Drop the comparisons.
You are enough. You are loved. And you are so worth it!
🙋 Language adjustment.
Swap our the crappy words for the happy words. Use language that reflects a positive state or aspect.
🙋 Be present.
Open your heart and your mind to exactly where you are now, indulge in the moment, revel in the life you have right now. The past is gone, the future isn’t here yet. Live for now.
I should warn you at this point that the HAPPY THOUGHTS switch does have an unfortunate habit of sliding back to it’s previous position.
The good thing is - the more often you flick the switch, the longer it stays on HAPPY.
I dare you to ‘flick the switch’ for the next few days and see what happens.
Who knows, you might even like it
